5Excellent car wax
By Richard Eltzroth
I used both the Step 2 and Step 3 of Meguiar's liguid wax/polish (didn't think I needed the Step 1 cleaner) and the combination provided the shiniest vehicle surface I've seen in quite a while. Even better than carnauba paste wax.

The Step 2 polish by itself is a good surface but the extra work of applying Step 3 is worth it; it's very noticeably shinier. And since both steps are liguid instead of paste, they go on faster than paste.

Try to find these on sale somewhere since the original price is high, but if you want a really shiny car, try both Step 2 and 3.

5Meguiar's A2116 Deep Crystal Polish
By Darrel
I have purchased this product in the past only to see great results with Meguiar's deep crystal polish; "It Does What It Says" provides a deep dark glossy shine and has proven to last long, even after the polish has almost worn off it still beads, Great polish for the price

4Non-aggressive almost to a fault - needs cleaner pre-application
By Richard Darling
This is a VERY mild polish. If your finish is already nearly perfect it may be the right thing for you, but if there are even mild flaws in the finish (such as a stain from a bird dropping that was allowed to remain for too long), a more aggressive polish seems to be called for. I think the product description (and for that matter, the Meguiar's website) does not emphasize this enough. My cars live in real-world Vermont conditions - I've used the A2116 polish now on two, a silver '07 Honda and a dark blue '09 Miata - and I probably will not make the effort with this product again. On the silver car I had to go back over many areas with a more aggressive cleaner-polish (as it happens that was a Mothers product not Meguiar's) to remove traces of birds, bugs, and trees. On the plus side, there seems to be no tendency to leave swirl marks when properly applied. I used both hand application and the Meguiar DA.

LATER EDIT: In response to a batch of comments to the ef fect that I should use the full three-step Meguiar's process, starting with their cleaner, then the polish, then a wax, I did re-do the Miata taking this approach, and the result is outstanding. Existing swirls disappear and the shine is deep and generally spectacular. I've raised my rating from three stars to four. Not five, because I stand by my opinion that this requirement is not emphasized enough in Meguiar's literature, and I also note that although all three applications are easy in themselves (starting with a basically new-car finish), there is a lot of time involved. I'd hate to do this on a much larger vehicle.
